Eric Bolander

The legend himself. Eric needs no biography or hype. His music speaks for itself. To say it was an honor for Eric to perform at the studio would be the understatement of the century. In our final session of the year, released August 29th, 2020, Eric dropped acoustic versions of some of his greatest hits. Thatcher’s Downtown catered an amazing, off the menu, secret item that’s only available to Eric Bolander himself. He’s kind of a big deal. Monroe Land Way

May 8th, 2020 concluded our inaugural “season” of Fat Cave Sessions. We were cut short due to COVID-19 but we squeezed in one last minute date with Monroe Land Way. MLW are friends of the Cave from way back. The first music video we were ever asked to film was for their single “Here”. Jacob, Todd, Cameron, and the one and only Tyler Childers all laid down a stellar 1-take performance in one go like machines. Check out the full session below!

Tyler Halsey

Tyler was gracious enough to lend his time to the Fat Cave in early 2020 to perform our first “full length” Fat Cave Session. Released on May 1st, 2020, Tyler performed a host of originals and an incredible rendition of “White Oak On The Hill”. After filming, Tyler felt compelled to record a John Prine tune. He chose “The Great Compromise”. It was spur of the moment, the cameras and lights were shut off, and we were all full of tears by the end of the recording. We found out the next day that John had fallen ill with COVID-19 complications, resulting in his untimely death shortly after. We collectively decided to make a tribute video with the song and release it on Youtube. Check out the full Fat Cave Session and The Great Compromise below.

The Amp – Sean Whiting – Perfect World (PREMIERE)

Whiting puts his talent to use with a tremendous backing, including Austin Lewis (Electric Guitar), Trevor Litteral (Bass), and Clarke Sexton (Drums) – not to mention the fantastic artistry of Sam Rogers (Engineer) – “Perfect World” pulls the curtain on what Whiting has to offer to the music realm, especially as a songsmith and visionary.

Capture Kentucky – Sean Whiting – Perfect World

“Perfect World was recorded live on August 2, 2020 in Jackson, Ky at Fat Cave Studios with engineer and studio owner, Sam Rogers. It was originally intended as part of a live performance series called The Fat Cave Sessions but as luck would have it, the recording went well enough that the decision was made to release the song as part of an EP.”
